Fifteenth Week of Internship 4/16/12 through 4/20/12

This week of my internship I did a lot of mail type work.  By this I mean I put invitations into envelopes for things like the awards banquet and a Methodist Softball Camp for younger kids for the summer.  Even though it is very simple work, this takes up a lot of time.  I realize that on top of other work, this type of simple work wastes a lot of time when other important things could get done.  This is my last week of my internship for now until I complete it next semester.  So far I have learned that the little things make a great deal in a job.

Fourteenth Week of Internship 4/9/12 through 4/13/12

This week I was given a new task to complete for my internship.  For this assignment I have to record the statistics of the pitcher's pitches.  For example I had to count the number of strikes, balls, batters faced, and innings pitched.  I learned that I have to have the precise pitch count or else I would mess up the entire stats.  I look forward to doing this because it is a good learning experience for me.

Thirteenth Week of Internship 4/2/12 through 4/6/12

This week I did not really do as much as I had planned on doing.  I continued to manage the field and do some statistics for the softball team.  Doing the stats helps me understand the scorebook more and how to read plays that happened in a game.  I also learned that if I do not calculate the stats correctly, I could mess up someone's individual stats, which will affect getting them certain awards for the conference.  I hope to do a big project next week and learn something new.

Twelfth Week of Internship 3/26/12 through 3/30/12

This week I continued to do the statistics and batting averages for the JV softball games for all the players.  Also, for the Military Appreciation Game, I went around the entire campus on foot and put up flyers for the game.  I learned that it takes a lot of effort to advertise things around campus.  I hope that next week I will get to do more office work with statistics.
